Strengths Deployment Inventory

  • What is the Strengths Deployment Inventory?

The Strengths Deployment Inventory is a self assessment tool which enables individuals to identify and understand their personal strengths in establishing and maintaining relationships with others. It is particularly effective for teams that are seeking to further develop their performance through increasing understanding and appreciation of the contribution of individual members.

Also available is a feedback edition of the inventory which allows individuals to gain information as to how others perceive their relationship building and maintaining strengths.

  • What does the programme involve?

All participants are required to complete the self assessment questionnaire prior to attending the first workshop. The questionnaire provides a portrait of an individual's strengths when things are going well in their relationships and what happens when difficulties are experienced. The first workshop focuses on developing personal understanding and team appreciation of how individual portraits impact on team working.

Prior to workshop two participants will be asked to seek feedback from colleagues using the feedback edition of the inventory. During the second workshop, both individually and as a team, they will be helped to understand the outcomes of the feedback reports.

The SDI is most often used as the basis for a bespoke programme during which the team work with the findings to further develop team relationships and improve effective working.
