The Business Partner Model

  • What is the Business Partner Model?

The Business Partner model is available to those organisations who wish to commit to CMS delivering their organisational, leadership and management development programmes over a specified time period.

Under the model CMS provide an organisation with their own learning consultant; an individual skilled in understanding organisations and delivering learning solutions that add value and deliver results. The purpose is to provide the equivalent of an internal centre of learning excellence for organisations too small to employ their own in house team.

The CMS Business Partner works closely with the senior management team to develop a deep understanding of the organisation thus ensuring that the development delivered is linked closely to organisational strategy, goals and purpose.

The payment for this service is based on days delivered; the Business Partner model, therefore, brings all the benefits of an in house learning facilitator whilst the organisation only pays for the delivery it requires.

  • How does the Business Partner model work?

    • A learning consultant with experience appropriate to the organisation is appointed
    • The organisation commits a budget to Business Partner activities for a 12 month period
    • CMS provide a tariff for the development activities that fall within the Business Partner model
    • An organisational learning plan is agreed for a three month period, at a minimum. The plan is reviewed quarterly. Activities are costed according to the tariff.
    • The learning consultant ensures their understanding of the organisation is continuously up to date

  • • Payment is made in twelve monthly instalments.
